As it was an evening flight from Gatwick, I was able to finish work as normal and then head down to the airport.

A smooth journey through Gatwick with an early call to a bus gate as the inbound flight had arrived early.

EasyJet very quickly got us all on the buses and out to the aircraft, with the last bus, the one I was on, departing at the exact moment boarding was due to close according to our boarding passes.

Whilst it was a bit of a drive out to the plane that had been parked quite a way out (the inbound flight from Milan had been to the South Terminal, but our Nantes flight was from the North, hence parking it at a remote gate), using both stairs we managed to board very promptly and then it was only a very short taxi to the end of the runway, and we were airborne less than 15 minutes later.

A quick flight down to Nantes had us on the ground a long way ahead of schedule, and with a very quick process through the border I ended up having a good 15-minute wait for a bus that I would never have made if the flight had been on time.

The bus dropped me off at the tram stop where, due to engineering works, they were all terminating this evening, so it was a very quick connection onto the tram the couple of stops round to my hotel for the night.
