By the time I got up most of the rest of the people staying at the site had already left so I was able to get straight into the communal shower and have a decent start to the morning before grabbing a coffee and the packed breakfast that the hotel had left in the fridge for me to collect.
I had a bit of time to spare before I needed to get moving, and as the weather was so nice this morning, I went for another walk around the village, taking in the sites with so much more of the landscape, and distant mountains visible when it’s not snowing.
I also had a quick look around the village museum, which is 6 of the historic buildings that have been left as they were when they were used by fishermen rather than being converted into holiday accommodation, including the old post office and a boat shed.
By now my time in Å was coming to an end so I needed to quickly head back to my room, pack my bag, drop the key into the same post box that I’d picked it up from the night before and start heading back to the bus stop, wandering how the hotel was going to collect payment given I couldn’t remember if I’d left a credit card with them when I booked!
I walked back through the village to the bus stop and unsurprisingly I was the only person who wanted the 11:05 (and also the last bus of the day) towards Leknes and Svolvær. We departed on time and it would be several minutes journey before we picked up another passenger.
