I only had a little time left as my shuttle back to the ferry was due to pick me up at 12:15, so after breakfast I headed out early into the city for a final explore to take in the last few areas of the city I wanted to see.

I started by heading over towards the Square of St Antonio before wandering down through the narrow streets of the old town to visit the Park of San Francisco, located close to the very centre of the city this small park is arranged over a number of terraces up the side of the hill, with a small tower located at the top.

From San Francisco I walked the short distance over to the Cathedral to have a look around, as it had been closed for services when I’d visited on Sunday. From the Cathedral I walked down the hill to the possibly more impressive church of St Dominics and then headed up into their museum of sacred art housed in a building at the back of the main church building.

I had a final wander in the area around St Dominics and Senado Square, stumbling by chance on the small Sam Kai Vui Kun Temple so had a quick look around that before it was time to head back to the hotel to complete my packing, check out and then get the shuttle back across town to the Outer Harbour and the TurboJet back over to Hong Kong.

I’d carefully hung onto the small slip of paper that immigration had handed me as I’d landed on the way in, expecting to be required to hand this back in, but in the end, nobody was interested in it and the formalities of leaving Macau took about 20 seconds.

About a 20-minute wait later we were called forward to board the catamaran and start the journey back to Hong Kong, which was slightly less interesting on the way back as the views from the window were obstructed by a thick build up of residue salt over the glass.
