General:

Small 1960's regional airport.

Appearance:

Cork is about to undergo a massive improvement scheme to increase capacity. At the moment the airport is small, very small. Despite that it is a friendly, welcoming and easy to use airport.

Inbound

Domestic
Planes arrive and do as close to a parallel park as you are going to get from a jet. Short walk into the terminal building and straight to the baggage reclaim (flights only come in from other EU destinations so the passport desks are not currently staffed). Through a very small customs hall and into the main part of the airport and out onto the forecourt for Taxis or Buses.

International
Domestic and International flights are all treated the same

As the flight was within the EU I did not have to go through immigration.

Small and basic area but the baggage came round relatively quickly.

As the flight was within the EU I did not have to go through customs

Half hourly bus/coach service into the city centre leaves from the front of the airport.

Outbound

Domestic
Cork has less than 20 check in desks, 4 gates and a single departures lounge with one shop and one bar/coffee bar. Process through the airport is very quick as everything is on top of itself.

Small bar/cafe in the departures lounge.

Small bar/cafe in the departures lounge.

There are no restaurant facilities at Cork airport

Small number of shops on the land-side of the airport. On the air-side there is one shop in the cramped departures lounge.

The toilets are clean and well maintained.
