General:

The airport serves both the flight needs of the city as well as being the runways for Airbus's final assembly lines which are located on the opposite side of the airfield

Appearance:

A slightly strange building, with the part where my plane landed arranged around a semi-circlular hub which resulted in a much longer walk than was necessary

The route through the airport appears to be designed to make you walk the furthest possible distance, though it did mean by the time I got to the baggage belt the luggage was already coming round. From the jet bridge you enter the main semi-circular hub of the terminal building, and from our jet bridge we needed to walk almost the full way to the opposite end to then descend down to immigration and then through to baggage reclaim. The customs hall had a couple of bored looking officials standing around, but nobody was stopped, and then it's out into the arrivals hall

A couple of booths were open, and as I was one of the first off of the plane I was through quickly

For the size of the airport a surprisingly small baggage reclaim area with only a couple of belts.

From baggage reclaim there is a small customs hall that you have to walk through before reaching arrivals

The T2 Tram runs regularly from the Airport to the centre of the city, but takes nearly an hour to get all the way in - you can reduce this slightly by getting off at Arenas stop and changing onto the Metro here. Trams and Metros are included in the standard travel tickets. Alternatively the Aerobus runs fast to the city centre and main station, taking about 30 minutes to make the journey - the Aerobus is not included in the standard transport ticket and a single journey costs more than a day ticket for the rest of the public transport system

After checkin and security you pass through into the main departures area. Flights to non-schengen areas leave from one end of the terminal for which you pass through passport control

A couple of small café/bars landside, a wider choice airside

A couple of small café/bars landside, a wider choice airside

Nothing landside a couple of restaurants airside - though most of these were still closed due to Covid when I visited

The usual large duty free shop you have to walk through to get anywhere and then a reasonable selection of other shops once in the main departures area

The toilets were clean and well maintained
